Focal on Main
The exterior of this LEED Gold building consists of an innovative, eco-friendly wood veneer and glass curtain panel mimicking the look of light filtering through a forest. Each solid and opaque section has been strategically positioned by Arno Matis Architecture to maximize light and the sweeping views of downtown and the North Shore Mountains.
Four reasons FOCAL is the high point of Main
Unique Building at Vancouver’s Style Enclave – FOCAL is a landmark building setting new standards with never before seen architecture in Vancouver. In addition to the eco-friendly exterior glazing system, the simple, staggered forms of each level – which pays homage to the diagonal and orthogonal street grid of the neighbourhood – strays away from the typical boring glass condo tower and injects a much-needed contemporary piece of architecture into the city.
Convenient Location with a Strong Sense of Community – FOCAL is located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, where Broadway, Kingsway and Main Street meet; where the sense of community is strong and the buzz of activity is distinctly its own. Residents will be spoiled by the surrounding amenities which include craft-beer focused bars, boutique designer stores and organic grocers – all within walking distance.
Stunning, Panoramic Views – FOCAL was meticulously designed to maximize views, with living areas mindfully positioned in the corners to take advantage of the various outlooks. Over half the homes – even those on the lower floors – have awe-inspiring views of downtown, the North Shore Mountains, landscaped terraces and treed canopies.
Intelligently Crafted Interior Design – FOCAL’s interiors will reflect the historic and artful quality of the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, all the while stepping outside of the box. Riesco & Lapres opted for honest and natural materials that develop more character as they age – stainless steel islands, brushed oak floors and backpainted glass backsplashes – but accented these elements with modern and contemporary pieces such as Vitsoe open-shelving by Dieter Rams and matt black bathroom and kitchen hardware.
